Landscapes

In between other projects, I have worked on an occasional series of landscape paintings. These derive from images found, like the bulk of my work, in flea markets, junk shops, collector’s fairs and any other source of old printed paper snapshots. The attraction with these images emerges from their casual nature, and it is often not immediately obvious why they were recorded other than as records of passing moments of contentment or pleasure. The sense of this motivation and its opaqueness is what enlivens scenes that may otherwise seem fairly unremarkable.
